Community Centre run by The Community for The Community

Examples of what could take place there.

The poster below and -
for clarity and ease of reading -
further explanation below that,
(the content of the yellow boxes, writ large)
aims to clearly show
the very large numbers of
social, community and
learning opportunities and events
which could centre on
a properly set up,
community organised and run,
Community Centre.

It would need to be jointly funded by
the NHS, Local Authority
and other national and local funds -
all of which are our public funds.

It would operate by and for the Community itself,
using a rolling committee
with adequate encouragement and education
to allow all members of the Community
to serve at some time
and at some level  -
and thus increase
the general public awareness
of democratic dealings.

This poster, showing changes which would build a more cohesive community which takes charge of its own affairs, uses pictures gained from the internet, which are all believed to be usable under 'creative commons'.

We all learn life skills, which we could pass on to others, with a minimum of fuss.

For instance: How to cook nutritious meals for a family.
Perhaps this might be the key to reducing obesity?
Please read on.

All of these things could happen within our central Community Centre.

This is not intended to be a definitive list but only a list of suggestions about what could take place in any given Community Centre.
I am sure that you can think of many more?
